Umpire Appraiser Services
I serve as an independent umpire when two appraisers cannot agree on a vehicle’s value. My role is to review both appraisals and the supporting evidence, evaluate the disputed issues, and reach a supported conclusion.

What I review
Both appraisal reports, the comps and adjustments used, vehicle condition, mileage, equipment, history, and any additional documentation relevant to the disputed value.
Each appraiser’s position is considered independently. I conduct additional market research where needed and ask for clarification when the evidence is incomplete.
The process
Confirm the assignment
I review the scope of the dispute, check for potential conflicts, and confirm availability and fees before accepting the assignment.
Review both appraisals
Both appraisers submit their reports and supporting evidence. I review the areas of disagreement and request any additional information needed.
Resolve the disputed value
I discuss the disputed issues with the appraisers and reach an independent conclusion based on the evidence. Any resulting award is completed according to the applicable appraisal clause.
Qualifications
ASCAA Certified appraiser preparing USPAP-compliant vehicle appraisals.
As umpire, I serve independently of either party. I do not accept an umpire assignment in a dispute where I have acted as either party’s appraiser.
Availability & fees
Email the vehicle’s year, make, and model, both appraised values, the names of both appraisers, and the insurer. Include the appraisal clause and reports if available.
I’ll review the details and confirm whether I can accept the assignment, along with the fee and expected timing.
