My Story

Fair Auto Appraisals LLC was born out of my frustration with insurance companies’ lowball tactics – something I experienced not once, but twice. In 2012, I lost my mint condition 1992 Toyota Pickup in a rollover accident on an icy road, and in 2023, I lost my 1998 Dodge Ram with a 12 Valve Cummins to an engine fire. Both times, I faced significantly undervalued offers for the vehicles.

The dispute processes were long and grueling, and I believe they’re designed to wear people down until they accept less than their vehicles are actually worth. But I refused to give up. I fought hard and ultimately secured fair settlements both times. Those experiences ignited a passion in me to help others fight for what is simply just fair.

We all pay a lot into insurance every month, so it’s only fair that they are there for us when we actually need them. It’s easy to feel powerless against these huge companies, but you have rights. I’ve been in your shoes, and as an independent vehicle appraiser certified by the American Society of Certified Auto Appraisers (ASCAA), I’m dedicated to fighting for fair payouts for my clients.

My goals are simple: to provide you with unbiased, accurate, and well-documented auto appraisals, and to expertly represent you throughout the appraisal clause process, ensuring that you are made whole after an insurance claim.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you "fight" to get me a fair valuation?

If your policy includes it (and most do), you have the right to invoke the appraisal clause, which allows you to challenge your insurance company’s offer by hiring your own independent appraiser.

When you hire me, I prepare a certified, data-backed valuation report. The insurance company will then hire their own independent appraiser. I negotiate directly with that appraiser to reach an agreement on your vehicle’s value. If we can’t agree, a neutral third-party umpire is brought in to make the final decision.

You don’t have to argue with anyone anymore. I handle the entire process on your behalf to help you recover the actual market value of your vehicle.

What types of vehicles do you appraise?

We specialize in appraising all types of vehicles, including cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, RVs, semis, classic cars, trailers and more.

How much does this service cost?

There’s a fully refundable $300 upfront fee, which covers the certified, USPAP-compliant appraisal report.

If I negotiate your offer up by at least $1,000, I charge a 20% success fee based on the amount of the increase. If not, the $300 is fully refunded.

There’s no risk of ending up in a worse position. You either get more money from your insurer or your money back.

How long does the appraisal clause process take?

Most cases are resolved within 1 to 3 weeks, but it depends on how quickly the insurance company hires their appraiser and how responsive they are during negotiations.

Once both appraisers are in place, I work quickly to exchange reports and try to reach an agreement. If we can’t agree and need to bring in a third-party umpire, it can take a little longer, but I keep things moving and keep you updated the entire way.

Are your appraisals accepted by insurance companies?

My appraisals are certified, USPAP-compliant, and accepted by major insurance companies. In the rare event that an issue comes up, I provide any additional documentation or support needed to move your claim forward, at no extra cost. You’re backed every step of the way.

Are you available to hire in all 50 states?

Yes. I provide certified appraisal services nationwide. No matter where you’re located, I can prepare your report and handle the entire appraisal clause process
